Dear ICANN –
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):
I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. The world as we know it has
changed. Considering privacy is a bit of a misnomer, considering hackers,
who have nothing better to do with their time, and now you are willing to
give out personal information on everyone with a domain name?
Imagine your family,friends,and/or loved ones exposed to the world, who is
going to protect them if you don't now? How will you feel if you could have
stopped it and did not?
Thank you.
