I oppose restrictions on WHOIS privacy
The proposed restrictions on WHOIS privacy would expose the personal information of a large number of people without any sort of due process or demonstrable need. For that reason, I oppose the current proposal. I propose instead that WHOIS privacy be an opt-out affair, with people's information protected by default. If that information is needed for law enforcement, the courts can issue a court order to obtain the unmasked information from the registrar. Thanks, -Tom |
