The maintenance of NS, DS, A and AAAA should be treated equally as core parts
of maintaining a delegation. There is currently no requirement, proposed or
otherwise, for registrars to treat the creation and maintenance of these
records on a equal footing. Such a requirement should be clearly stated.
Background.
Many registrars currently require registrants to use different procedures, like
opening a support ticket, to update AAAA and DS records, if they support them
at all, whereas A and NS records are handled via. web forms. This dichotomy in
the handling of records is bad for the industry as a whole. It is holding back
the advancement of IPv6 and DNSSEC.
