The GNSO Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC) has long supported a
requirement for all gTLD registries to employ a consistent thick Whois
architecture for providing access to registration data. We welcome the
supportive statements of ALAC (also a long-time advocate for thick Whois) and
of CNNIC in this public comment forum, and urge the ICANN board to approve this
unanimous recommendation of the GNSO Council as soon as possible, so that
implementation of this long-overdue change can begin promptly.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the Intellectual Property Constituency, by
Steve Metalitz, IPC Vice President
