I support the renewal of .coop as a sponsored TLD with the current sponsor.
One of the key benefits to cooperatives of using .coop is that it lets the
market know that this business is NOT a .com.
Co-operatives are member-owned and using a .coop domain promotes that co-op
identity in a way that a .com or .net or .org cannot.
Because the domain is sponsored, and only legitimate cooperatively
structured organizations can use .coop, the public knows that dealing with a
.coop company means that it is dealing with a member owned organization.
That is good and useful public information.
The current sponsor has the support of many co-op organizations around the
world as the other postings indicate.
Let's keep Dotcoop as the sponsor and .coop for co-ops.
