Dell Inc.'s Comments on the GNSO Council's Approved Motion on Domain
Tasting

Dell Inc. ("Dell") appreciates this opportunity to comment on and
express its support for the motion before the GNSO to combat domain
tasting via changes to Add Grace Period ("AGP") provisions.

As one of the world's leading online retailers, Dell and its customers
are often the subject of online abuse, including phishing scams,
counterfeiting, intellectual property infringement, consumer fraud, and
cybersquatting. Dell's efforts to combat such abuse and to protect its
customers, including through effective policing of its trademark rights,
are often adversely affected by the practice of domain name tasting.

While Dell would prefer the complete elimination of the AGP, which would
effectively end the problems of domain tasting, it supports the current
motion as a good first step in combating the problem, and applauds the
GNSO Council for its efforts to curb the abuses of domain tasting. Dell
also agrees with the comments submitted by the Internet Committee of the
International Trademark Association ("INTA"), the American Intellectual
Property Law Association ("AIPLA"), and the Intellectual Property
Constituency ("IPC"), and Dell joins each of these organizations in
urging the amendments discussed in their comments.

Sincerely,

Allison McDade
