GNR proposal

Dear Sir or Madame,

Key-Systems as one of EuropeÂs biggest registrars supports the proposal of GNR.
The current situation does not allow the registration of many common and popular
names. It is apparent that the discrimination of two-character last names is
blocking people from getting their own personal name as a .name address.

Reffering to names like "Smith" in the english-speaking countries or "Mueller" in the German speaking area, shared second levels are not new.
There are thousands of names that are reserved for third level registration only, such as smith.name or jones.name, where the second level is shared between people with the same name.

There is no reason why people with a two letter name should not be allowed to register their name in the above mentioned way.

Key-Systems supports the proposal of GNR to open the .name-space to users with a two letter name. In the global domain-community, there should not be a discrimination because of the length of a name.

Best regards,

Thorsten Smeets
