Jonathan,

This is a good starting point. I might suggest we look to the instances where
it has worked, as with JIG (and where it has not -- as with JAS), as data for
the discussion.

All,

Following on from Gisella’s invitation below, I am writing some preparatory
notes and Agenda items for the call this evening.

Including this evening, we have the ability to meet three times in advance of
Dakar and then in person in Dakar. At this stage, we have a draft charter and
some uncertainty to the basis on which we involve and engage other SO/ACs in
this GNSO effort.

It seems to me that we need to work through an agenda along the following lines:

· Recap position to date
(last meeting - 21/07/2011)

· Review and agree charter

· Aim to resolve WG/JWG issue

· Plans for meeting in Dakar

· Understanding of staff support

Please feel free to give feedback on the agenda. An hour is not a long time so
I’m keen to focus our effort as effectively as possible.

Last meeting is here:

Best wishes,

Subject: RE: [gnso-ccwg-dt] MP3 & Transcript / GNSO Drafting Group on Cross
SO/AC Working Groups 21.07.11

All,

We had limited participation on our last call but if we are to make any
progress ahead of Dakar, the drafting team needs to be re-invigorated.

I expect we need to meet regularly over the period between now and then – I am
thinking of every two weeks.

Key administrative questions to be answered therefore are:

1. Are you still on board and able to assist with this initiative?

2. If so, are you willing and available to have two weekly meetings?

3. If so, are you able to meet at say 20h00 UTC? This seems to be
working OK for the Consumer Metrics group.
(13:00 PDT, 15:00 CDT (Cedar Rapids), 16:00 EDT, 22:00 CEST, 06:00 Sydney).

4. Given issues of resourcing and Margie’s recent absence, it will be
helpful to re-establish any ability from ICANN staff to support this group.

Thanks and best wishes,

Jonathan
