Dear All,
A new mailing list <gnso-consensus-wg@xxxxxxxxx> (there are no public
archives) has been created for the group instructed by the ICANN Board to
resolve the issue of restructuring the GNSO Council.
• One representative from the current NomCom appointees - Avri Doria,
• One member from each constituency:
Philip Sheppard - CBUC
Steve Metalitz - IPC
Tony Holmes - ISPCPC
NCUC still awaiting name
Jon Nevett - Registrars
Chuck Gomes - Registries
• One member from each liaison-appointing advisory committee (if that
advisory committee so desires)
Alan Greenberg - ALAC (still to be confirmed)
The GAC Chair has advised the ICANN Board that it is unlikely that the GAC
will provide a representative to the working group, but has nevertheless sent a
message to the GAC list to see if there is any interest.
The Board said the group should reach consensus and submit a consensus
recommendation on GNSO Council restructuring back to the Board by no later than
Friday, 25 July 2008. The Board then expects to consider the working group
recommendation as soon as possible, but no later than it’s meeting in August.
That meeting is currently scheduled for 28 August 2008.
Please let me know at your earliest convenience dates that would be work for
you for a face to face meeting. Dates that have been suggested so far are 12-13
July (a week-end).
With the USA 4 July holiday weekend, please give an indication of the first
possible date for a teleconference. Wednesday 2 July has been suggested, but
does not work for Tony Holmes and Chuck Gomes.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
Glen
