Jim Galvin:Jim Galvin has just joined
Terri Agnew:Welcome Jim Galvin
Petter Rindforth:Cannot read the coloured response comments
Terri Agnew:Welcome Amr Elsadr
Amr Elsadr:Thanks Terri.
Amr Elsadr:Hi all.
Lars Hoffmann:here is a link to the word document. i will see if i can upload
a different colour right now.
Lars
Hoffmann:https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/53772762/Public%20comment%20review%20tool%20TT%20Initial%20Report%20V8.5.doc?version=1&modificationDate=1430304578000&api=v2
Petter Rindforth:thanks
Lars Hoffmann:highilights should be fixed - and the document is un-synched.
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:Hi all
Terri Agnew:Welcome Pitinan Kooarmorapatana and Pascal Haddad
Amr Elsadr:We should collect the ideas we have on possible improvements that
are out of scope, and include them in one or more recommendations to be
included in the issues report of the post-EWG PDP.
Pascal Haddad:Hi Everybody
Amr Elsadr:Not seeing the WG member responses in the doc being shared.
Amr Elsadr:Hi Pascal.
Amr Elsadr:Ah. OK Thanks.
Amr Elsadr:I'm sorry. Where are we?
Amr Elsadr:Thanks.
Pascal Haddad:Amr I m sorry to interrupt but I would like to call you at your
convenience
Pascal Haddad:to share some ideas
Amr Elsadr:@Chris: Yes. An error that you have corrected. Apologies. :)
Amr Elsadr:@Lars: Seems out of scope to me.
Lars Hoffmann:@amr: it's of course up to the group to decide. it's just how i
(and other staff) would see it.
Amr Elsadr:Recommending a policy of machine readabiltiy involves technical
structure of the database, and display capabilities of whois search services.
Right?
Jim Galvin:@amr - machine readability is about the structure of the data in
transit - eg using XML
Amr Elsadr:I'm not saying it's a bad idea, just that it warrants more
discussion before being a PDP WG recommendation.
Jim Galvin:display can then do what they want and third party applications
can do what they want. this is the point of the WEIRDS work, the reaplcement
for WHOIS
Jim Galvin:third party apps include transformation
Amr Elsadr:They need to be within the recommendations, just mandated to
another PDP.
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:agree with Amr
Jim Galvin:yes, push forward to another PDP. the point is not to let the
issues get lost or forgotten.
Pascal Haddad:exactly Jim
Petter Rindforth:It is in fct very helpful for all new WG's to have some kind
of summary and recommendations from previous WGs, even if those recommendations
are not formal
Amr Elsadr:@Petter: Yes. The historical context is always helpful. Serves as
a guide to drafting of issues reports and WG charters as well.
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:on 55 , i'm not sure if the question means , change
of address ... not just correct the typo?
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:i might not sure the intension of the question
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:is the change an approved means
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:1.change the trasliteration coz it doesn't transform
correctly ?
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:or
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:2. change the name of the street name coz he moves
the house
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:okie then
Amr Elsadr:As I pointed out to Lars before, the accurate transliteration of
Cairo would be something like "Alqahira". The translation of "Alqahira" would
be the female form of "The omnipotent conqueror". :)
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:that's why may be the 'transform' is preffered .
which may = mapping
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana::)
Petter Rindforth:well, well....
Amr Elsadr::)
Petter Rindforth:let's discuss that further off line ;-)
Amr Elsadr:Sure thing. :)
Amr Elsadr:This comment was raised by the IPC as far back as the webinar that
was held on the initial report, but we haven't addressed it yet.
Amr Elsadr:I think we need to do some homework on this one. :)
Lars Hoffmann:i can pull up the other version if you like me to.
Amr Elsadr:Whoops. I forgot to check on an alternative to that. Apologies.
Amr Elsadr:What question are we on?
Amr Elsadr:Technically, it isn't unlimited. It is limited by the number of
scripts/languages that exist. :)
Amr Elsadr:Was there a first version of the final report? I must have missed
it.
Amr Elsadr:Thanks.
Lars Hoffmann:everybody - i have to log off to join another call. will catch
the rest on the reconrding. and will stay in the AC room o too. vetalk to you
all soon!
Wen Zhai:Bye Lars~
Amr Elsadr:@Chris: OK. Thanks. That'd be helpful.
Amr Elsadr:Bye Lars.
Amr Elsadr:Thanks all. Bye.
Pitinan Kooarmorapatana:Thanks all
Petter Rindforth:Thanks for today
Wen Zhai:Bye all.
Jim Galvin:Thanks bye!
