 What is the meaning of the following statement in the draft Council minutes:

b. This recommendation would appear to be unacceptable 
3. Registrars must obtain a separate acknowledgement from registrants that they 
have read and understand these disclosures. This provision does not affect 
registrars' existing obligations to obtain registrant consent to the use of 
their contact information in the WHOIS system."

Appears to whom?  Unacceptable to whom?  It seems from the rest of the minutes 
that some spoke in favor of this recommendation, some against.

Please find attached the revised extract from the draft GNSO Council minutes 
dealing with the 2 Items on WHOIS issues  that were  discussed during the GNSO 
Council teleconference held on 2 June 2005.

Thanks to Marilyn Cade and Tim Ruiz for the observations about the minutes, 
they have been revised accordingly.

Please remember that the Whois task force call starts half an hour later today, 
that is at 7:00 PDT, 10:00 am EST, 14:00 UTC, and 16:00 CET!
