Public transportation and touristy remarks (Re: [gnso-dow123] Venue address and shuttle service)

FWIW, you can also take buses 16 or 18 from downtown Luxembourg to
Aeroport or Kirchberg, and leave at the stops Carlo Hemmer (18 only)
or J.-F. Kennedy. Tickets should be at € 1.10.

>From Carlo Hemmer, the entrance to the conference venue should be in
plain sight; from JFK, you'll have to walk a bit: Either, up the
street to the right of the shopping mall, or into the mall, then up
the escalator to the first floor, and through the side exit there.

(There's some big ICANN logos on the outside of the conference site,
so you won't be able to miss it...)

You'll know that you stand in front of the wrong entrance when (1)
it's closed, (2) there's no ICANN logos, and (3) there's a huge
parking lot in your back. If that happens, turn left, leave the
parking lot, turn right, and follow the building. It's not too far
to the right entrance. Note that the big square building with few
windows just across the street is the back side of Luxembourg's
largest cinema -- just in case you desperately need some
entertainment.

Unfortunately, the Plateau Kirchberg, where the meetings are held,
is architectural wasteland, and typical for the region only in a
very sad way. If you have any time off, take a bus, go to downtown
Luxembourg, and enjoy the world cultural heritage there. Or rent a
car and drive North, to Echternach or Vianden, or East, to Mosel and
Saar. Or take a train and visit Trier (ca. 40 minutes train ride,
at least one train per hour).

See you all tomorrow,
