1 Discussion on the purpose of WHOIS
The task force discussed the purpose of WHOIS and the WHOIS contacts. Two
constituency statements are still outstanding:
. NCUC statement on WHOIS contacts (Kathy Kleiman will
forward)
. Registrar constituency statement on purpose of WHOIS
and WHOIS contacts (Ross Rader will forward once the constituency has
agreed)
Actions
. Two sub-groups were set up;
o Group to define 'technical matters' in relation to WHOIS
(volunteers: Kathy Kleiman, Steve Metalitz, Ross Rader)
o Group to define 'legal matters' in relation to WHOIS (volunteers:
David Fares, Jordyn Buchanan, Maggie Mansourkia - not on call, subject to
her agreement)
. Glen will set up a mailing list for each of the two sub-groups.
2 Next task force call:
The next call will be held on Tuesday, September 27th 2005 and will deal
with:
* Reports back from two sub-groups on purpose of WHOIS
