procedure.

Decisions

* Following a discussion of each public comment received, it was
decided to submit the task force report in its current form (plus the
summary of public comments) and not to amend the recommendation/advice or
change the decision of the task force to forward the report to the GNSO
Council.

* MF to produce the final task force report and circulate to the task
force.

* Constituencies that wish to may provide short statements about
suggested changes to the procedure and advice that occurred after the

2 Purpose of WHOIS

The task force discussed progress on the purpose of whois, specifically the
work of the technical and legal sub-groups and defining the terms in respect
of any legal or technical issues with relation to WHOIS. There had been
more progress on the technical definition than the legal definition.

Decisions

* The two sub-groups working on defining technical/legal issues in
relation to WHOIS will resume their work by email.

* The task force will work on-list on developing a list of issues it
thinks WHOIS is intended to resolve.

* The follow-up conference call conversation will discuss how to
modify the list of issues this to deal with the specific types of issues in
scope.

The next conference call will be held at the same time on 25th October,
2005.

N.B. The task force will begin to meet weekly if sufficient progress is
not made on-list between now and 25th October.
