Hi everyone,

Purely as a question, I wonder if it might be helpful to consider replacing
'resolve', (as in resolve technical, etc. issues) with 'respond to' as it's
not obvious that the contact person will necessarily resolve the issue
straight off. For example, if it's a contested legal issue, someone using
the Whois data might reasonably expect a response though not necessarily an
imnmediate, satisfactory resolution from/through the point of contact.

i.e. the clean version might read:

Clean version:

The purpose of the gTLD Whois service is to provide information sufficient
to contact a responsible party or parties for a particular gTLD domain name
who can RESPOND TO [resolve], or reliably pass on data to a party who can
RESPOND TO [resolve], technical, legal or other issues related to the
registration or use of a domain name.

Just a suggestion - the drafters may already have taken this into account.

All the best, Maria

Attached and pasted belowplease find the formulation of the ISPC, IPC and BC
representatives based on Ross's draft. WE understand Jordyn will present
this at the public forum tomorrow.

gTLD domain name who can resolve, or reliably pass on data to a party who
can resolve, TECHNICAL, LEGAL OR OTHER ISSUES RELATED TO THE REGISTRATION OR
USE OF A DOMAIN NAME. [issues related to the configuration of the records
associated with the domain name within a DNS nameserver. The Whois service
should provide information SUFFICIENT to contact this responsible party.]"
