Another party, or source of information, that is missing from the RFI is
the ICANN Staff (and perhaps the Board) itself. Not sure that it needs
to be part of the RFI, but it would be helpful to know the level of
inquiries, complaints, or other communications that the Staff is
receiving regarding tasting. For example:
1. X registrars (don't need to idenfity them) have contacted us about
the activity - X pro, X con.
2. We receive X comments/complaints from registrants regarding the
activity - daily, weekly, whatever timeframe - X pro, X con. How would
they charactize the parties - X are average Joes, X are IP community, X
are Businesses, etc.
3. Are they or have they received any communications from LE, the DoC,
the FCC, etc. regarding the activity. What was the nature of those
communications.
4. Any other communications that would be material to this WG?

Attached is Olog's draft introduction, plus the draft questionnaire. I
added the following sentence to the intro, further to Jeff's good
comment on the call today:
The group would especially appreciate statistical and other empirical
evidence to support your responses, or references to potential sources
of same.
Please provide any comments back to the list by this Sunday. Olof will
then incorporate any comments as best he can and recirculate a draft in
advance of our call next Wed., when the goal will be to finalize the RFI
so it can be distributed.
Please also provide any comments or suggestions as to how to conduct
outreach to specific "key sources" of information, including and beyond
the RFI.
Thanks to Patrick and Olof for following up with Kurt and the economist
to begin process of getting that input as well, and also from Verisign.
Kind regards,
Mike Rodenbaugh
