This is an extremely important point. I can't even speculate what tolerance
thresholds governments and financial institutions operate under with respect to
fraud, theft, loss, but the numbers are growing daily and we would be foolish
to dismiss the possibility of government/regulatory outrage and intervention.
[Plea: Having been a bouncer in college, I suspect that the bouncer analogy is
flawed, let's just let it go and I promise I'll share bouncer stories and
motivations with you in Cairo:-]

In fact, the more the Internet is self policed the less pressure there is for
governments to get involved. So if we can solve problems of our networks being
used for fraud ourselves then there is less pressure to have government pass
laws to solve our problems for us. So the way I see it we are contributing to
the freedom and independence of the internet by acting as "bar bouncers" so
that we don't have to call in the cops.
