Re: Public Comments Issue Group 9, "Next Steps/Possible Solution"
Issue:
The Intellectual Property Constituency calls for further study to
establish the extent of the harm (9.g) and understand the "rather
speculative characterization of fast flux benefits" and whether such
benefits can be achieved in another manner (9.h). The IPC also
encourages the further development of the Information Sharing and Active
Engagement measures outlined in the Initial Report (9.i) and to continue
to investigate the APWG's proposed best practices (9.j).
Proposed Response:
These issues are addressed in the draft Final Report. The IPC's
comments are more supporting the Report's findings than calling for or
taking issue with the current text. Also, the Report includes the
possibility for further investigation (including with external bodies)
if the GNSO feels it is desirable.
