WG Members,

Please remember to submit your Statement of Interest as soon as possible, including the 4 points below. If you have already submitted a note, please ensure that 1-4 below are covered.

Glen will publish a list of those individuals who have not submitted their SoI’s in a short while.

One of the reasons Statements of Interest are important to be (a) filed, and (b) include financial and especially IDN interests is to later avoid “fox guarding the henhouse” situations, where policy-makers do not disclose their interests while making policy, and later go on to utilize such policy that might have been beneficial to their hitherto unstated interests.

As a result, I exhort you to submit your Statements of Interest, that cover at least the following key areas:

1. Current vocation, employer and position

Associate of the Open Institute of Cambodia, a Cambodian NGO, heavily involved in the creating of UNICODE based localized Open Source software in the Khmer language
http://www.khmeros.info

In addition, I am editing a regular review of the Cambodian language press - in English.

2. Type of work performed in 1 above

Policy advice, public advocacy for the introduction and promotion of this Open Source software, in close coordination with the government agency in charge: National Information Technology Development Authority
http://www.nida.gov.kh

3. Financial ownership or management leadership of registries, registrars or other firms that are interested parties in IDNs.

No involvement - but the Open Institute - as a not-for-profit NGO, is strongly committed to promote the national language on computers - which may lead to later active involvement with IDN in Cambodia

4. Type of commercial interest in IDNs.

None - see above.

If you have already submitted a Statement of Interest, please review it to ensure you have covered items 1-4 above.

Regards,

Ram
