[gnso-igo-ingo] IGO-INGO PDP WG Action Items
All, Thank you very much for your support and time in volunteering for the IGO-INGO PDP Working Group. As a follow up to today’s initial call, would first of all like to clarify that this WG is for the PDP initiated by the GNSO Council at its recent meeting in Toronto to determine policy recommendations for the protection of certain IGO and INGO names, including the Red Cross/Red Crescent and IOC names at both the top and second levels of all gTLDs. This WG is currently separate from the existing IOC/RC Drafting Team, which has developed proposals to protect the IOC and RCRC names at the second level of the first round of new gTLDs. The first task of this WG is to complete and submit a WG Charter to submit to the GNSO Council for approval, ideally, in time for the 15 November Council Meeting. Towards this end, the next meeting of the IGO-INGO WG will be scheduled on next Wednesday, 7 November, which is the deadline for submitting the WG Charter for consideration at the 15 November Council meeting. We would greatly appreciate your cooperation in completing the following action items prior to next week’s call: 1. Review and provide any comments on the attached draft WG Charter and draft Work Plan/Timeline by 18:00 UTC Tuesday, 6 November. 2. This WG needs a chair and so, if you are interested in volunteering or, would like to nominate an individual, please submit to this email list prior to the next call on 7 November. 3. Consider whether the role of the existing IOC/RC DT in relation to this IGO-INGO WG and PDP should be discussed by this group during the 7 November call for the purposes of drafting the WG Charter or, by the GNSO Council at its 15 November meeting.
