Objet : [gnso-igo-ingo] Call for Volunteers for IGO-INGO Protections
Implementation Review Team (IIP-IRT)
Call for Volunteers for IGO-INGO Protections Implementation Review Team
(IIP-IRT)
Introduction
As resolved by the GNSO Council at its meeting on 20 November 2013 (see
resolution http://gnso.icann.org/en/council/resolutions#201311) "the GNSO
Council shall convene an IGO-INGO Implementation Review Team to assist ICANN
staff in developing the implementation details relating to the recommendations
adopted herein should they be approved by the ICANN Board, including the
Principles of Implementation highlighted by the Working Group in Section 3.7 of
its Final Report and any Exception Procedures to be developed."
Tasks of the Implementation Review Team
The Implementation Review Team will serve as a resource to staff on policy and
technical questions that arise in the course of implementation of the IGO-INGO
WG's policy recommendations as approved by the ICANN Board. The Implementation
Review Team is expected to work with ICANN staff to ensure that the resultant
implementation fulfills the intentions of the approved policy recommendations.
The Implementation Review Team shall refer any issues encountered that may
indicate a need for new or modified policy recommendations to the GNSO Council
for its consideration and follow-up, as appropriate.
It is anticipated that IRT meetings will occur mostly through recorded and
transcribed conference calls, once or twice a month depending on workload, and
over an estimated period of 6 to 12 months.
Volunteers - How to Apply
If you are interested in participating in the Implementation Review Team,
please send an email to the GNSO Secretariat
(gnso.secretariat@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:gnso.secretariat@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>) by
Friday 24 July.
While any interested party is welcome to join the Implementation Review Team,
this request for volunteers is for the particular attention of members of the
IGO-INGO PDP Working Group (as resolved by the GNSO Council) and of the
contracted parties Stakeholder Groups.
Next Steps
ICANN staff plans to organize the first meeting of the IGO-INGO Protections
Implementation Review Team before 31 July 2015.
This meeting will be an opportunity to seek questions or clarifications related
to the recommendations adopted by the ICANN Board and GNSO Council that are not
inconsistent with advice from the Governmental Advisory Committee (see
resolution 2014.04.30.03 at
https://www.icann.org/resources/board-material/resolutions-2014-04-30-en#2.a).
Additionally, elements of the draft implementation plan created by staff will
be discussed during this first IRT meeting.
