Message from Dave Piscitello, Senior Security Technologist, ICANN:
Here's a question for ICANN and the registrars.
I learned that resellers have the option of not accepting domain transfers in
from Bruce Tonkin. Thus, if a registrant wants to transfer a domain into a
registrar, whether he can do so through a reseller is entirely up to the
reseller, and somehow the registrant is supposed to know this, or find out
through trial-and-error. Is this how we want the system to work? Yes is an
appropriate answer, but in that case, a solution that is better than "trial and
error with resellers" would be more consumer-friendly.
