RE: [gnso-metrep-wg] new name for the working group formerly known as Metrics and Reporting

Hi All,

 

I am not so sure about the word “metrics” as people tend to interpret it
differently. By contrast, the word “data” seems more commonly used and well
understood. Also, I think it is good to be able to discern from the name of
a working group “what” and “why”. To that end, I think the link to policy
making is helpful as it makes the “why” clear. 

 

In short, I like the name Mikey suggested but respect Jonathan’s preference
for “metrics”. So here are some proposed edits/options for your
consideration:  

 

“Data Collection and Reporting to Inform Policy Making”

or

“Data Collection and Reporting for Policy Making”

or

“Collection and Reporting of Data and Metrics for Policy Making”

I don't think adding Policy Making will add value, it is within the GNSO.
