Dear Jeff:
This was in relation to what a "registration" is. We are reviewing the
domain lifecycle as it is helpful to understand what operations may be
performed on a domain. As you know, many PDPs have been related to domain
lifecycle issues, such as deletions, transfer operations, and the Add Grace
Period.
The chart I sent was designed a few years ago after RGP was instituted, to
help illustrate what happens after deletion. The labeling "when a
registrant should realize" was a notation about RGP. By design, the RGP
mechanism places domains on Hold status so they stop resolving. This is a
signal to the registrant, who may then redeem the domain if he or she
wishes.
All best,

All,
Sorry I have been unable to make many calls due to the early time for me,
but have listened and have a few questions on the diagram that was sent out.
There is a mix of facts and suppositions in the diagram and was not sure
from listening to the call what the intent of the diagram is . Was hoping
for some clarity on the topic.
Terms such as in "when a registrant should realize" do not seem like a
timeline to me and am still unsure what the term domain is "in arrears"
pertain to.
If these could please be explained as to what they mean and why they are in
graph, it would be very helpful
Thanks
Jeff

Apropos of today's discussion of "registration": attached FYI is another
visualization of the domain name life cycle. It doesn't illustrate all the
things that can happen with a domain (such as the grace periods associated
with a registrar-to-registrar transfer), but it does illustrate autorenew
and RGP.
Marika, can you send up to the list the illustration you showed in Adobe
Connect today?
All best,
--Greg
