I also would like to add a personal statement at the end of
Table 4.1:

Mike Rodenbaugh makes the following statement:

It appears obvious that these names were reserved to avoid
end-user confusion if an entity other than the corresponding entity
(ICANN, IANA, etc.) were to register a domain such as icann.info,
iana.biz, afnic.travel, etc. Such problem is far more severe in the
case of well-known brands (Yahoo!, Citibank, eBay, etc.) who receive
exponentially more traffic to their websites and collect personal and
financial information from users, making them far more frequent and
severe targets for cybersquatting, phishing and other illegal
activities.

ICANN and related entities' brands should not receive any
greater protection than more well-known brands. Rather, ICANN should
determine methods to better protect all users and brands from these
problems, taking into account the many years of experience that
non-ICANN related brands have suffered in this regard.

My apologies that you did not receive this last night.
Apparently the RN-WG list was not set up to receive files this large
(128 pages). I sent it out at 10 pm PDT last night and just found out
that no one received it. Kent Crispin has now increased the file size
allowed so you will now probably all receive it twice because I also
sent it to the private distribution list I have for the group.

I have attached a draft version of the RN-WG final report.
Please familiarize yourself with it before our meeting if possible. I
suggest that you pay close attention to the following as related to your
subgroup and/or area of interest:

        * Section 3 on pages 6-8: Roles of Reserved Names (copied
from the subgroup reports with a few minor, not substantive adjustments)

        *       Section 4 on pages 8-22: RN-WG Recommendations (copied
verbatim from the subgroup reports)
        * Individual subgroup reports in the appendices as shown
in Table 6.1 on page 23
        * Section 7 on page 24, Other Conclusions from the Work, a
new section added by Tim Denton.

Note that a table of contents and an executive summary will be
added before sending the report on Friday. Hopefully, a draft Executive
Summary will be available before our call.

The plan for our meeting is to spend the majority of our time
reviewing the report to make sure it has strong support from the full
group. We will spend a brief amount of time on each report but we will
not have time for lengthy debate of issues in those reports.
