RE: [gnso-sti]
Have edited out reference wrt usefulness to Registries. With respect to the minority position - it becomes increasingly important to identify who the minority position is held by and why. The Board isn't going to get the time to study pages and pages - this was true wrt the IRT report. Most people reading the document will probably only see the far right column, hence the importance to highlight the minority view, if any. We would object strongly to relegating short points with respect to the minority to the bottom. The minority statement can be placed at the end however. I am happy to work with anyone to reduce the length of the statements in the columns to shorter points, however- Jeff, I would be happy to take this offline if you are available. As far as facts are concerned, what are perceived by one as a point of view may be a fact for another. Our membership sees these concerns as factual. I do not believe the BC minority position should be sprinkled throughout each and every recommendation. A note should indicate there is a minority position and state that at the end. In addition, the BC should not use this report as an advocacy piece, but rather stick to the facts. Lets discuss on our call, but the Registries are not very happy with how this has come out either, but we are willing to live with compromise. The BC statement talking about the Clearinghouse benefitting only the Registries is not only incorrect, but is a complete distortion of reality. The BC can make their arguments to the GNSO and to the Board, but there is no place for that kind of statement in this report. Best regards, Jeffrey J.
