Hi, Ross
I am not nearly so pessimistic. I think the WG made real progress on a number
of issues. In particular, NCUC and other privacy advocates have made it clear
we are willing to take legal persons off the table. Let the Whois status quo
stay in place for them. We all know that those are the majority of registrants
at this time, although we don't know the exact proportion.

For natural persons, we implement OPoC. Yes, I agree with you that certain
people are going overboard trying to load functions and regulations onto the
OPoC in a way that defeats the whole purpose. We just need to calmly explain
how unworkable and pointless that is and stick to the basic OPoC plan.

You won't often hear me invoke G.W. Bush, but I think we need to stay the
course.
