I like the idea of using the WG call to test your approach if the sub-team
supports that.

Sub-Team Assignment and Sample Grid

Michael, All,

In an attempt to facilitate this assignment, I've updated the mind map (see
attached) and ordered the different charter questions along the lines of the
order of the presentation (note, this a proposed order that seems to follow
relatively naturally if you follow the direction of the existing PDP). I've
also added those tasks (highlighted in blue) that came up through our
conversations and/or the presentation. The tasks highlighted in green are those
that have been taken from the charter. Provided that this outline aligns with
the thinking of the sub-team, it might be worth using the upcoming WG meeting
to confirm the broad outline / approach of the sub-team as well as determine
whether there would be support for carrying out these three strands with the
use of sub-teams that would be running in parallel or that each of these would
/ should be addressed sequentially by the WG as a whole. Following that
feedback, it might be easier to translate this into a concrete work plan
instead of having to work out different variables which could take a lot more
time. I hope this may be helpful. Looking forward to speaking to you shortly.

Best regards,

Marika

Assignment and Sample Grid

Thank you everyone for the positive session yesterday. Since I am now in the
"teacher" mode, I thought an assignment appropriate: Please consider the
Charter as analyzed in the Original Mind Map and in the Distilled Charter and
Mind Map, and draft a Work Plan with Discussions, Analysis, Presentations,
Public Comment Requests, and Milestones/Deliverables that would enable PI
Working Group to accomplish its charter. Please consider parallel
Tasks/Deliverables and places where sub-teams or other resources might be
appropriate.

To stimulate thought, I attach an early draft Grid that could be used -- though
it does not account for parallel tasks or sub-teams.

If possible, I would like to have these drafts submitted by Monday or Tuesday
of next week (October 7-8) and schedule a call for late in the week or early
next week to compare and discuss these drafts. I do note, however, that it may
be preferable to have this first draft by everyone be as broad as possible. We
could then divide responsibility for identifiable milestones to have sub-team
members consider and draft proposed components or sub-milestones of these
tasks/reports/etc.
