Hello All,

On Friday, the committee considered the discussions on lessons learnt,
the various papers from the public, the public comments, and the
constituency statements.

The outcome of the discussions was captured as follows:

Rough consensus:

Taking into account the lessons learnt from the limited introduction of
new TLDs since 2000, the GNSO supports the continued introduction of new
gTLDs.

Prior to introducing new TLDs, the GNSO recognises that the lessons
learnt, the submissions made in response to PDP-Dec05 and further input,
should be taken into account to identify and develop Consensus on the
selection criteria, allocation methods, and implementation processes.

Note that there was no formal vote taken on the statement above, and the
intent of identifying a "rough consensus" was to allow the committee to
move forward to the topic of selection criteria.

Regards,
Bruce Tonkin
