Variable Domain Pricing

To whom this may concern,

The public needs to understand what is being proposed. It was my
assumption (and that of anyone I know who is aware of who ICANN is)
that ICANN has an obligation to the public. I'm failing to see how
variable pricing helps anyone who could remotely be termed the
"public". My belief was that ICANN's charter required them to support
the internet for the good of the public?

There is so much wrong with variable pricing that I hardly know where
to start - so I'll let others list the wrongs.

At any rate, it is becoming quite clear to me that recent
actions/proposals from ICANN may be more of a hindrance than an
incentive to the internet and I/we are concerned enough to begin
actively working to fix/eliminate the problem - the main problem
seemingly being the current incarnation of ICANN.

Please rethink this (and certain other recent moneymaking schemes ie
new tlds) and free me to look after my business. I should be comforted
by instead of worried about ICANN's existence.
