Members of the Board

Creation of the .XXX domain is simply expanding and approving the criminal
aspect of the porn industry. You have an obligation to consider not only what
is legally allowable but what can happen in the criminal element as a result of
a move like this.

Neither ICANN nor the company urging the establishment of this new domain are
arguing that the .XXX domain would clean up the .COM domain and require all
pornographers to move to .XXX. The .COM domain is a cash cow for pornographers
and they are not leaving it. ICANN has no enforcement powers to make them
leave and thus clean up .COM. Pornographers would simply expand to .XXX and
maintain their current .COM sites, perhaps doubling the number of porn sites
and doubling their menace to society.

Please do not create a .XXX domain.
I work in law enforcement that seeks to put porn criminals in jail. This would
simply create MORE criminal activity.

How on earth can we address thoroughly the very real threat of terrorism, both
foreign and domestic, if we continue to pursue the expansion and proliferation
of these crimes that are in all of our power to restrict and even eliminate?
Every day that law enforcement attention has to be drawn away because of sexual
perversions and appetites that victimize the most innocent, helpless and
vulnerable, somewhere a greater evil advances.

Sincerely,

Susan Young
