Please say no to xxx

Dear ICANN,

I have recently learned you are considering the ill advised step of creating an 
XXX domain. 

Given the significant and growing research that shows the vast kinds of damage 
produced by pornography including sexual violence, creating a domain for this 
toxic material is unconscionable.  

Even an introductory psychology 101 student would be able to predict  that 
creating this domain will increase 
pornographic websites and access.  This will damage men, women and children as 
well as our society

Neither you nor the company urging the establishment of this new domain are 
arguing that the .XXX domain would clean up the .COM domain and require all 
pornographers to move to .XXX.  The .COM domain is a cash cow for pornographers 
and they will not leave it.  Pornographers would simply expand to .XXX and 
maintain their current .COM sites, perhaps doubling the number of porn sites 
and doubling their menace to society.

We need ideas that protect children and help parents in creating home 
environments that are porn-free; not ideas that help pornographers profit.   
Please stop the xxx domain for good.
