Dear ICANN,
I support Option #3 of the March 26,
2010 process options submitted by ICANN
for public comment.
I am an intellectual property lawyer who
was one of the very first ICANN
qualified decision makers in 2000.
There is no question in my mind that
ICANN should vote to adopt the
dissenting opinion of the Panel's
Declaration on the basis that the Board
thinks that the Panel's majority opinion
was wrong and that the Board's conduct
was consistent with ICANN's Bylaws and
Articles of Incorporation.
The adoption of a .xxx domain will only
serve to proliferate, not curtail, the
number of pornography sites on the
internet, and as a result unquestionably
and undisputedly result in untold
increased harm to minor children.
At the very least, an independent
Commission should be implemented to
examine the potential impact a .xxx
domain name will have on access to
pornography or explicit content on the
internet before any vote is taken. I
would be willing to serve on any such
Committee.
If you really care at all about the harm
xxx rated content is causing to minors
on the internet, you will choose one of
the options in my email. Any other
choice essentially makes you an honorary
member of NAMBLA and I will see that
your names are published broadly as
such.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Mills
