Dear ICANN,
I support Option #3 of the March 26,
2010 process options submitted by
ICANN for public comment.
ICANN should vote to adopt the
dissenting opinion of the Panel's
Declaration on the basis that the
Board thinks that the Panel's majority
opinion was wrong and that the Board's
conduct was consistent with ICANN's
Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation.
Please understand why that is the best
choice. With growing ignorance on the
part of many young parents, lack of
parental restraints on children, the
very nature of isolation regarding
computer activity as well as
availability of media influx at every
turn, adding to the already indundated
questionable content of so much
programming and other expressions will
not assist our nation in choosing the
best for our children. We must
protect the vulnerable among us. We
are all responsible whether or not we
recognize it because the damage will
be done as ignorance of the law is
hardly redeemable. Much advancing
damage is done with opening up
additional doors to pornography in
that it can only grow and move into
illegal areas let alone, the pain and
damage in people's lives that it has
already shown to bring. Peace and
safety should be our #1 concern. I
hardly think opening the door to
pornography will accomplish this goal
of every American citizen's trust.
Thank you for listening to my thoughts
and no doubt of others as heretofore
there has been grave opposition to
this consideration.
Sincerely,
Diane Carr
