Dear ICANN,
I support Option #3 of the March 26,
2010 process options submitted by ICANN
for public comment.
ICANN should vote to adopt the
dissenting opinion of the Panel's
Declaration on the basis that the Board
thinks that the Panel's majority
opinion was wrong and that the Board's
conduct was consistent with ICANN's
Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation.
In addition, the historical behavior of
those in the pornography industry has
never been one of self -policing or
self-control. creating this domain does
not remove porn from non XXX
domains...it only creates a new "free
for all" domain where there is no
restriciton whatsoever. Those who do
access this domain would also continue
to use other domains as "lead ins" to
the XXX domain. In actuality, based on
previous behaviors of thi industry--
that is the behavior that would really
explode...leading people from benign
sites to these XXX sites without their
voluntary consent. Children will be
placed at even greater risk! The best
option for all is to keep porn
regulated and away from children and
the rest of us who really do NOT want
this stuff coming into our lives in any
way. It is important to always keep in
mind, that even though those who want
to participate this kind of behavior
have the right to do so---the rest of
us have the same right to NOT
participate..or have it forced into our
lives by others.
Sincerely,
Susan Mateo
