Dear ICANN:
I love the concept but am shocked at the execution. No single corporate
entity should be owner of TLDs that are words in a language, such as
'apple', 'horse', or vernacular such as 'app', for example.
This is a short-sighted approach, given the rate at which companies start
and end.
It also provides unfair competitive advantage in a landscape that has grown
our economy by virtue of accessability, regardless of age or status.
Access to new TLDs should be the same as anyone's access to a .com domain.
Please clarify or revise your approach.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Karen Bensdon
