It is shocking that ICANN would put forth a proposal like this. Lifting
price controls completely would be a huge burden on both individuals &
businesses, as domain names (especially those already registered to those
parties) could start being held for ransom by the registries & registrars
that make up the Internet naming establishment. Please keep domain name
prices predictable & in check.
I also ask that you hold registries accountable for their performance by
eliminating the Presumptive Renewal provision as well. This type of
virtually unchecked monopolistic power inevitably leads to higher customer
costs for a lower level of service.
I hope there's still a chance for you to do the right thing here for the
Internet community at large.
