Please post the following proposed comment:
I proposed that the following statement be made by the ALAC in support of the
proposed changes to the IRTP:
The ALAC supports the proposed changes the Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy Part
B – Recommendation #9 – part 2: when and how domains may be locked or unlocked.
The proposed changes enhance registrant rights in respect of their domain
name(s) by ensuring that
· Registrars can only impose a lock that prohibits transfer of the domain
name if it includes in its registration agreement the terms and conditions for
imposing such lock and obtains express consent from the Registered Name Holder:
and
· Registrars must remove the “Registrar Lock” status within five (5)
calendar days of the registrant’s initial request, if the Registrar does not
provide facilities for the registrant to remove the “Registrar Lock” status
Kind regards
Holly Raiche
