In terms of public comment period, it should happen along with the coming
version of the AG once (and if) it is incorporated I think.  The JIG report
itself has gone through the comment periods for its creation.

Speaking of which, I observe that in the latest AG, the following note was
included:
Note that the Joint ccNSO-GNSO IDN Working Group (JIG) has made
recommendations that this section be revised to allow for single-character
IDN gTLD labels. See the JIG Final Report at
http://ccnso.icann.org/node/15245. Implementation models for these
recommendations are being developed for community discussion.

First of all, the link above is incorrect... the final report should be
found actually at:
http://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/jig-final-report-single-character-idns-
30mar11-en.pdf
That wrong link would confuse a lot of people on the readiness of our
recommendations, so it should be updated ASAP.

I wonder if Bart or other staff members on this list can help with that.


Secondly, the note suggests that "implementation models for these
recommendations are being developed"  I wonder if anyone from staff can help
provide a bit more update to this and perhaps see how we can help with those
development.

Also, it may be useful to make this an agenda item for our upcoming meeting
next Tuesday.
