I am the founder and publisher of THE BLACK COLLEGIAN Magazine and the
operator of THE BLACK COLLEGIAN Online. Our online Career Center and job
bank offers job seekers free, practical tools for searching and applying
for jobs with employers who are committed to recruiting a diverse
workforce.
Launched in 1970, THE BLACK COLLEGIAN is a career and self development
magazine targeted to African-American college students and other
students of color seeking information on careers, job opportunities,
graduate/professional school, internships/co-ops, study abroad programs,
etc.
The magazine is distributed on a controlled-request circulation basis
(free) over 800 campuses nationwide, primarily through the career
services office. Both THE BLACK COLLEGIAN magazine and THE BLACK
COLLEGIAN Online are published by New Orleans-based, IMDiversity, Inc.,
which also owns and produces the IMDiversity.com Multicultural Villages
and Career Center.
I applaud the work of the .jobs PDP Council and the oversight provided
by SHRM. As a long standing member of SHRM and the .jobs community, I
highly endorse Employ Media's proposed methods to allocate non company
names.
Sincerely,
Preston J. Edwards, Sr.
