two points of concern: ) ICANN has a documented history of being delinquent on meeting time objective deadlines. in the 06apr2005 announcement, there are no provisions for default advancement/acceptance if defined deadlines are missed, thus allowing a loophole to effectively table a proposal. ) the announcement calls for -ALL- ICANN supporting organizations / committees be apprised of any new proposals (step 4). this is a fine idea and i understand that this is already applicable. To date, at least one ICANN supporting group has not been kept apprised of such actions. --bill manning |
