Thank you so much for your testimony Angela. It was superb. I heard you met
with Wash Post editorial staff. Is that true? If so who did you meet with?
We want to submit an op ed.

Subject: [npoc-voice] US Senate Testimony & Dec. 14th Conf. Call
Date: Thu, Dec 8, 2011 5:37 pm
Hi All,
Angela Williams, General Counsel of the YMCA of the USA, testified on behalf of
NPOC before the United States Senate Commerce Committee this morning. Angela
did a wonderful job representing NPOC and my heartfelt thanks to her for her
time and efforts. Her
testimony<http://commerce.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=Hearings&ContentRecord_id=22f4a71e-93e9-4711-acec-3ed7f52277cc&ContentType_id=14f995b9-dfa5-407a-9d35-56cc7152a7ed&Group_id=b06c39af-e033-4cba-9221-de668ca1978a&MonthDisplay=12&YearDisplay=2011>
begins at about the 11 minute mark.
Next Steps:
· We will post a press release to our website,
www.npoc.org<http://www.npoc.org>, later this afternoon.
· NPOC has been asked to submit written testimony in addition to the
oral testimony. I will prepare a draft this weekend and send it out to the
list for review. It will be in the same vein as Angela’s testimony and NPOC’s
previous ICANN comments, namely discussing the economic impact of the new gTLD
program on nonprofits.
· Your organization may submit written comments as well! They can
detail your exact position or simply state that you agree with the testimony
issued by NPOC. Please send your written comments to Mr. Erik Jones
(erik_jones@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:erik_jones@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>). The
record will be open through end of day Wednesday, December 14th and all
comments must be received by then.
NPOC’s next regularly scheduled conference call is Tuesday, December 13th at
4pm EST (21:00 UTC). The conference passcode is 5913. Please email me
directly (and not the entire list) if you require the dialing information or if
you would like the operator to dial you directly. Agenda: discuss the written
testimony, related issues around the new gTLD program and NPOC elections.
I look forward to speaking with you,
Amber
