Dear NPOC Colleagues,

You will have seen this communications below from Glen de Saint-Géry, GNSO
Secretariat, and from Robin Gross, our NCSG Chair on the NCSG-Discuss list.

I would strongly encourage that you nominate worthy candidates from the
NFP/NGO community, currently members of NPOC. With the new deadline, plenty
of time to respond. Self-nomination is fine, but please share the fact with
this list of you do.

I think an NPOC candidature for a GNSO Council position is our best bet and
would actually make strategic sense. This would give a chance to the
Nominating Committee to appoint a NPOC member, since NCUC already holds the
other NCSG available positions (elected by a majority of NCUC members who
out-numbered NPOC members in the election.

Would anyone of you consider a nomination?

ICANN Nominating Committee Extends Deadline for Statements of Interest to
16 April 2012****

In order to provide additional time for candidates to apply, ICANN's 2012
Nominating Committee (NomCom) has extended the deadline for Statements of
Interest until *16 April 2012 at 23:59 UTC*.****

The 2012 NomCom is actively seeking qualified candidates for the following
key positions within ICANN:****

   - Three members of the Board of Directors of ICANN****
   - Two At Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) representatives (one each from
   the European and North American regions)****
   - One member of the Council of the Generic Names Supporting Organization
   (GNSO)****
   - One member of the Council of the Country-Code Names Supporting
   Organization (ccNSO)****

Statements of Interest for the positions described above can be submitted
through an on-line application form athttp://nomcom.icann.org/apply or by

Successful candidates will take up their positions following ICANN's Annual
