[npoc] Red Cross scoops Asturias Award

Dear NPOC Colleagues,


It is a great honor and pleasure to share with you that the prestigious
2012 Asturias Award for International Cooperation has been won by the
International Movement of the Red Cross which incorporates the
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International
Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.


These 2 organizations, along with the US, Australian and UK Red Cross, are
founding members of NPOC and have made it possible for NPOC to become the
first new Constituency since the inception of ICANN.


I take this opportunity to thank them and offer NPOC's warmest
congratulations for a job so well done.


The announcement was made in Oviedo by the president of the jury which
considered 32 nominations from 15 different countries. It is the sixth
