[npoc] Re: FY14 Special Budget Request

Sam, colleagues:

Sounds like it is worth exploring. Sam, I would say go ahead in exploring
as time is of the essence - I need to put in the fast track budget request
before March 22nd. If you can fish out a valuable theme of joint interest,
we could do an event  (one day, half a day? $5000, 10,000$?) on the Friday
15th of November, the day before we at NPOC need to be at GNSO meetings on
the Saturday and Sunday. This could  bring 2 or 3 more NPOCers to Buenos
Aires than the current 4 travel slots we have (we will be 5 with Sam paying
his own way).

I also forgot to mention that we should perhaps think of doing an event at
Bali (October 2013). I am discussing with Bill and Robin a possible
NCSG/NPOC/NCUC event. Maybe we should also do a replication of the Beijing
event on "impact of new gTLDs on NGOs" session at Bali?

Another idea is an event on building registrar capacity in developing
countries... a kind of follow-up to Addis where Poncelet and Olévié
represented NPOC. This needs fleshing out! FYI Caroline at IICD is
interested in implementing such projects in IICD countries of concentration.

Finally, we could ask for a budget to develop NPOC dissemination material,
but that can go on the regular track budget request (deadline is April 19th)
