Statement of the ALAC on the Draft FY12 Operating Plan and Budget
Dear all, The At-Large staff has the honor of transmitting to you, on behalf of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), the Statement of the ALAC on the Draft FY12 Operating Plan and Budget (attached). Tijani Ben Jemaa, a member of the Executive Committee (ExCom) of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) and the Vice-Chair of the African Regional At-Large Organization (AFRALO), originally composed this statement, following discussion within the At-Large Community on the topic. On 4 June 2011, the original statement was posted on a wiki workspace<https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/ALAC+Statement+on+Draft+FY12+Operating+Plan+and+Budget>, and a call for comments was sent to the ALAC-Announce mailing list. Each of the five Regional At-Large Organizations (RALOs) then reviewed this original version, and the At-Large Community submitted input on it. A second version of the statement, incorporating this input, was created on 10 June 2011. On 13 June 2011, the FY12 Operating Plan and Budget was discussed in a single-topic ExCom call with ICANN Controller Juan Ojeda. Incorporating both comments from this call and further input from the At-Large Community, the final version of this statement was created on 17 June 2011. Also on 17 June, Olivier Crépin-Leblond, Chair of the ALAC, requested that the At-Large Staff conduct a five-day ALAC ratification vote on this statement. With this e-mail, this ALAC Statement is being transmitted to Juan Ojeda, the ICANN staff member responsible for this public comment topic, with a copy to the ICANN Board Secretary.
