Worried about your proposed changes
To the Members of the Board of ICANN, On the announcement page of your website, the Fees Payable to ICANN section explains that the new proposal "is intended to appropriately scale the fees payable by each registry to ICANN to the success or decline of the registry business". This leaves a lot of room for you to interpret what is an appropriate fee for you to charge. Has there been an organized attempt to ask each of the owners of these domain names what they think of this proposal? The announcement's opening paragraph stated that these proposed agreements were 'posted for public information', but an email sent directly to the owners would ensure they are made aware of these possible changes since there's no guarantee they've heard from another source. And what might they think if they DO hear through the grapevine instead of directly from your organization? Might they see it as a quiet attempt at pushing your proposal through? One that lifts the fee restrictions, then fails to define the exact fees they will be paying in the future? Sincerely, Shane Christensen Houston, TX |
