Opposed to variable pricing
As a .org and .com domain holder I am opposed to variable pricing of domains. There is absolutely no reason any one domain name should cost more to register than any other. The only conceivable reason for this rule change is to allow domain registrars to adopt opportunistic and extortionist tactics, milking money from those fortunate enough to be running successful web businesses while contributing very little. It also opens up the possibility of attacks by domain name registrars against those who hold political or social views that they do not agree with. Q: How much does it cost to register mySpiffyDomain.org? A: How much you got? Sincerely, -N.
