Terrible Idea!
I am firmly opposed to the variable pricing of domain names by the .info registry. This is pure greed at its worst -- it does not cost more to maintain the google.info domain name than it does to maintain someotherdomain.info. Why should registrars profit from the hard work and capital invested in increasing the value of a domain name? This is especially troubling for the .org registry since it is primarily used by non-profit organizations. Should a foundation to fight breast cancer have to shut down its website because it can't afford to re-register it? Regards, Dave Kiger |
