Comments on Proposed .BIZ, .INFO AND .ORG gTLD Registry Agreements
Hello, I would like to voice a strong opposition to the "variable pricing" which is being proposed for .ORG and other gTLD registry agreements. Such an arrangement would inevitably cause all reasonably useful domain names to eventually fall into the hands of the wealthy corporate elite, who will always be able to raise the "market price" of a domain to the point where only they can afford it. I am involved in a volunteer-run open source project -- citadel.org -- whose domain name would quickly be snapped up by commercial interests with whom we compete, if variable pricing were to go into effect. On behalf of myself and the entire citadel.org community, consider us */strongly opposed to variable pricing./* Thank you for your attention. begin:vcard fn:Art Cancro n:Cancro;Art org:Xand Corporation adr:;;11 Skyline Drive;Hawthorne;NY;10532;US email;internet:acancro@xxxxxxxx title:Senior System Administrator tel;work:914-592-8282 tel;fax:914-592-3482 x-mozilla-html:TRUE url:http://www.xand.com version:2.1 end:vcard |
